Worlds largest art community site (I believe) 14.000.000+ uploads is in problems.
Spyed president of deviantart.com has decided to fire Jark the guy that once created deviantart.com with matteo. This resulted in the fact that now already 10 admins have quited their job and deviantart.com is flooded with images to support Jark.

yeah im retreating from DA too much rubbish goes on over there and no matter how much anyone complains it wont change anything, the admins are very tight lipped about the situation

Well, as long as there is AU and chocolate, I'm happy. I just have my DA account for sending notes to my bf anyway.

server size for a bit, cost wise definitely not, server load most likely not. though in all seriousness i do not see this as being a problem as a "mass exodus" is unlikely.

I can't possibly see this ever happening for so many reasons.
This site is what it is, and will probably never be anything more. It is close knit, it has become low maintenance, and carries an atmosphere more like an irc channel than an upload driven website. The only active admins do an impressive job of keeping it moving smoothly with no real direction at all strictly on common sense and a good understanding of the dynamic here. Point is all of these things alone create a system that could not support anything too much larger than say LOS was at it's most active and there is still many other factors that could be considered.
So what we have is a site ill equipped on pretty much every end to support or promote a lot of growth. Though at the same time most of what holds the site back also creates the things you guys have repeatedly mentioned as what you like about this site.
Also not entirely related, i have never really liked the name artuproar.. but for some reason tonight it is especially bothering me.

Well the love for jark which you can see at devart is unbeleivable, almost all avatars are painted in yellow and lots of works are being bsubmitted in favor of jark.
